Professional experience

Anael Rosalen has more than five years of professional experience as a legal advisor in the field of financial markets law. Prior to joining Grant Thornton AG, he worked for a larger accounting firm. His responsibilities included advising and assisting asset managers in the context of FINIG licensing, assuming the compliance function of asset managers, supporting the compliance function of various banks, advising various financial intermediaries on all financial market law issues, assisting in the conduct of internal audits, FINMA investigation mandates and licensing audits, as well as project management and conducting regulatory audits of asset managers and trustees.

Professional qualifications and memberships

Anael Rosalen has a Bachelor’s degree in Law with Economics, as well as a Master’s degree in Law from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).

Languages

Besides his native German, Anael Rosalen speaks fluent English.

The legal basis for the Limited Qualified Investor Fund (L-QIF) came into force on 1 March 2024 with the amendments to the Collective Investment Schemes Act (CISA) and the Collective Investment Schemes Ordinance (CISO). Based on the Luxembourg RAIF, this is intended to introduce a more flexible fund in Switzerland, as it already exists in various forms in EU countries. The aim is to strengthen the Swiss fund centre and make it more competitive.
