Sebastian Neufang is a Partner and has a proven track record in providing integrated legal, regulatory and business advisory services to banks, asset managers, insurance firms, energy/commodity traders and issuers on the capital market. He provides comprehensive advice on change and transformation processes such as on the implementation of new regulatory requirements. He develops and implements compliance and legal & business risk management systems, performance improvement strategies and target operating models for sustainable growth. He has been advising systemically important financial institutions on reorganisation and winding-up planning since the beginning of the too-big-to-fail legislation. In addition, he provides support for the organisational and portfolio-related restructuring, closure and voluntary liquidation of banks. He also has extensive experience in acting as a liquidator in bank insolvencies and was actively involved in various leading roles in significant Swiss bank insolvency proceedings in recent years.
Before changing to Grant Thornton, he worked for one of the Big 4 companies for several years, where his latter role was manager of the Advisory Legal, Regulatory & Compliance Financial Services in the Competence Center Risk. Before that, he worked as a lawyer and business consultant in Dusseldorf, Berlin and Beijing.
